JOB TITLE: SYSTEMS ENGINEER III
DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING
REPORTS TO: CHIEF ENGINEER
CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT
JOB SUMMARY:
The position works on Group-3 UAV avionics and payload integrations, including electrical systems, advanced networking, and software development, through the complete system development life cycle in a multidisciplinary environment.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze, decompose, translate, and create requirements for changes and integration of new pay loads within an existing system
Work closely with individual technical team leads to accomplish tasked objectives in a project-focused environment.
Manage documentation of technical designs and operation manuals.
Serve in a design quality role helping to ensure that project planning is accomplished to the appropriate level of fidelity and ensure the development teams are following appropriate processes.
Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate implementation strategies and time allocation to complete multiple concurrent objectives.
Perform other duties as assigned
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 5+ years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 2 years of related experience or 9+ years of relevant experience in lieu of education.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
4+ years of experience leading engineering teams in support of complex systems integration
2+ years of experience in project management
Knowledge and understanding of autonomy and software systems.
Knowledge and understanding of UAV systems and payloads.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience with management of agile and waterfall development processes
Familiarity with MS Project Jira, Monday.com, automation frameworks (Jira Automations, SharePoint Automations)
Experience with Version Control Systems (Git, GitHub, SVN, etc..)
Basic understanding of networking concepts such as network sockets, NAT, and the between routing and switching.
Basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts of harness creation for systems integration, PCB design, or electrical circuit design.
A technical understanding of aircraft flight controls and hands-on experience flying full sized or model aircraft
Accurate and precise attention to detail with creative and innovative thinking and planning
Must be a team player with great communication skills, with the ability to prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Experience contributing to the flight clearance and/or safety review process
Ability to maintain awareness of technology within the domain or system and develop technology strategies for the domain or system. Provide inputs to technical & product roadmaps.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to traverse manufacturing facility.
