Position Summary : We’re currently looking for a Software Systems Engineer to work with external and internal customers of the Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) group to discover user needs, translate those needs to product requirements and develop tests and other verification/validation methods to ensure those user needs are being met by our various software products and tools. We provide guidance and support for internal and external teams in terms of regulatory and quality processes and deliverables. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Software Systems Engineer.
Key Job Responsibilities: Solicit customer requirements and feedback for SomaLogic software solutions. Define software product requirements and provide sufficient detail for implementation by the development team. Define validation and verification tests to ensure that product requirements and user needs have been met. Develops and maintain processes and tools as required to support R&D. Work with the development team during implementation, providing regular feedback based on development builds. Collaborate on system architecture development to ensure system architecture and functionality meets requirements and specifications. Establish and maintain traceability from test cases to requirements. Risk analysis assessment including identification of mitigations. Participate in all phases of SDLC from requirements definition to deployment. Establish and enhance existing test and agile processes and documentation. Gather scoping and estimation information in support of program management. Responsible for design history file deliverables for software products. Work with business development to establish partnerships with 3rd party software providers with offerings relevant to providing customers a complete solution. Some travel to customer and partner sites may be required.
Skills & Requirements
Qualifications: Education: Bachelors or Master’s Degree, preferably in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field. Skills and experience: Minimum 2 years of experience with regulated systems (Design Controls, FDA, CAP/CLIA, etc…) required Experience with systems engineering, requirements analysis, software quality, and V&V Experience verifying software product meets specifications through manual and automated testing is required Experience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Maven, Cucumber, Junit, REST Assured, or similar Experience with requirements management tools such as Doors, Arena, or similar Experience working in Continuous Build/Integration environments and using code repository and defect tracking tools (Jenkins, Docker, BitBucket, Jira) Experience in risk management activities and analysis Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required Experience with software development processes including agile development methods Demonstrated ability and desire to work within a regulated medical device development environment Desired: Proficiency with one or more of the following scripting languages: Python, Shell, JavaScript Experience with database testing (SQL, Postgres, etc…) Experience leading/working in agile/scrum environment Familiarity with proteomic, genomics, or other high dimensionality biological data sets and tools is preferred
Work Environment: We are a fun and passionate team from diverse backgrounds with an informal office work environment. Our work environment favors the curious with frequent company seminars covering all parts of the business, technical elements of our technology and scientific applications of our technology. This position involves work in a remote work setting supporting a campus in Boulder, Colorado comprised of a laboratory, sample management, and research & development spaces.
