The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through documentation updates, data analysis, reporting, and general engineering support for on-market products. This role will focus heavily on gathering and updating statistical data, supporting technical teams with process documentation, and assisting with ongoing engineering initiatives across production and R&D. The Sustaining Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that engineering records and technical reports align with current standards and project needs.
*Job Functions :*
* Work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, R&D, and Production departments to gather, review, update, and maintain documentation, reports, and process records.
* Support ongoing engineering efforts related to labeling & packaging projects, product changes, and production improvement initiatives.
* Gather and analyze statistical process data and report findings to engineering and operations teams to assist with continuous improvement.
* Create and deliver clear and organized presentations, technical reports, and summary slide decks for engineers, technicians, and management.
* Assist in the maintenance and revision of production documentation (including but not limited to: templates, work instructions, process flows, and component specifications).
* Actively support document control efforts during updates to templates and formatting across the engineering team.
* Participate in engineering and manufacturing meetings to capture and relay data, reporting requirements, and cross-department needs.
* Assist in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of product or process issues as needed.
* Interface with R&D and manufacturing to support general sustaining engineering tasks.
* Provide data tracking and reporting tools using Excel or equivalent applications.
* Operate in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to shifting priorities or urgent deliverables.

*Requirements:*
* Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline/equivalent experience.
* 25 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device preferred, but industrial, pharma, or automotive also considered).
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation building.
* Generalist mindset with the ability to shift across documentation, data analysis, and production support.
* Experience updating technical documentation, engineering records, or quality-related forms preferred.
* Familiarity with FDA, ISO, or other applicable regulatory guidelines a plus.
* Comfortable working onsite in a manufacturing environment and collaborating across departments.
* Self-starter with strong organizational skills and a proactive, 'workhorse' mentality.
* Experience with statistics, reporting tools, or document management systems a plus.

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
