We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer based in San Francisco, CA who will provide end-to-end manufacturing and process solutions for key design features in OURA's new and sustaining products. This includes manufacturing process development and capability, selection and qualification of manufacturing equipment, new supplier bring up, automation development, and process technology R&D. This is a hybrid role, the candidate should be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to come into the San Francisco office 2-3 days per week.

What You Will Do:

  1. Define best-in-class processes to meet all OURA design and operational requirements
  2. Partner with Quality Engineers, Material Engineers, and Product Designers to optimize product design and manufacturing processes for cost, cosmetics, and reliability
  3. Identify, research, develop, and qualify equipment manufacturers and suppliers in support of OURA's hardware development goals
  4. Use data to drive process decisions and influence product and industrial design, including part tolerances and specifications
  5. Drive suppliers globally to establish and optimize manufacturing processes for Oura's mechanical components, ensuring best-in-class quality & resolving production issues
  6. Develop and document processes, parameters, consumables and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specifications
  7. Work with Sourcing Managers to define and establish supply chain requirements utilizing selected equipment and manufacturing partners
  8. Provide leadership and support at manufacturing sites during development and production ramp
  9. Work with engineering and other cross-functional teams to drive issues to resolution
