Job Specifications
Major Function:
This position provides engineering supervision for the Power Delivery team.This engineering supervision includes managing a team of engineer and technicians responsible for the planning, design, and execution of distribution projects. It also includes assisting in the overall planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the City’s Electric Power Delivery Operations facilities. This position includes serving as a technical advisor and reviewer for complex projects.
The ideal candidate will have the following Desirable Skills:
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and their applications.
• Experience with technical project management, including preparing cost estimates, specifications and bid/RFP documents.
• Ability to interpret drawings, diagrams and instruction manuals and able to prepare or modify drawings in electronic format.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain records and coordinate and/or supervise subordinates or assigned contractors.

Minimum Training & Experience
Possession of a bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
AND
Five years of professional experience in planning, designing, operating, and maintaining electric distribution systems
OR
Possession of a master's degree in Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
AND
Four years of professional experience in planning, designing, operating, and maintaining electric distribution systems
Necessary Special Requirements
Applicants possessing a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology must obtain the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) designation within six months of hire as a condition of employment.
Individuals in this classification are considered essential during emergency and storm situations and must be able to work 16 hours per day for extended periods of time and may be required to be away from their family.
Salary Range
$32.4586 to $88.0790/hourly. Hiring rate generally will not exceed $65.1893/hour
Driver's License Requirements
Must possess a valid Class-E State driver's license at the time of appointment.
