Position: Streaming and Systems Engineer Location: Bedford, TX Job Id: 333-32825 # of Openings: 1 Daystar Christian Television Network if looking for an experienced Streaming and Systems Engineer to work at our Headquarters in Bedford, Texas location. The Streaming and Systems Engineer will serve Daystar Television Network through performance of engineering, design and maintenance tasks related to systems in the Broadcast Network Operations Center (NOC). SSE will oversee and maintain the Web-streaming systems and maintain the Internal IP Network Connectivity for these and related production systems in the facility. IP networking skills to be utilized extensively along with back-end server support of various server systems proposed or in use with multiple OS deployments. The ideal candidate is a self-starting team player who thrives on keeping all the engines running, with a desire to continue learning. Job Responsibilities: Fully responsible for all Streaming Systems and support infrastructure Harmonic XOS Encoders, their signal integrity and encoding quality o SMPTE 2110 SDI infrastructure components of Software maintenance and support of encoders and related devices o Engineering Support to Web Master (Business IT Department) Coordinate and develop technical strategies to improve reach and effectiveness o Research and develop new technologies and best practices for Streaming Work with and assist Senior IP Network Engineer, Broadcast & Production (SINE) o Cooperative development of optimal streaming environment Educate Engineering and Business IT staff of relevant Broadcast/Streaming convergence information Assist with development of SOW and RFP for Network Segregation Project Work with and assist Sr. Network Operations Engineer (SNOE) Help SNOE with Master Control / Network Operation Center technical operations, installations and maintenance Systems include: § A/V Routers and signal path equipment; Encoders; Ingest and Playout servers; QC equipment; Signal Processing; Control Traffic; Remote Monitoring; Multi-viewers; IP Network fabric components; Closed Captioning; NOC Media Storage and archive systems Assist SNOE in SIAR (Station In A Rack) architecture to optimize streaming to tower solutions Assist RF, NOC and Engineering Services team in developing DR strategies to employ network wide Work with and assist NOC Operations Engineer (NOE) Support Engineer for Harmonic XOS SRT Encoders used in Cloud playout systems, Assist with Aveco automation and OSI traffic software backend Hardware and signal path maintenance Tele stream Vantage Lightspeed server support and maintenance Assistant Engineer for NOC / Production IP Networking Documentation of all operational procedures in purview of job description Other responsibilities as assigned Knowledge Base: Operational knowledge of systems previously listed Strong computer/server skills required: Linux, Windows Server, ZFS, 1FS, Qumulo Layer 3 IP Networking Certifications preferred, or demonstrable experience VM Ware experience a plus Proficient in Office 365 apps Visio, Auto Cad or similar platform experience for documentation helpful College Degree (Technical, Broadcast or IP Network Engineering) preferred, or experience equivalent Ability to accommodate continuing technical education Familiarity with SMPTE 2110-(n) protocol preferred Requirements: Must be able to walk and to sit at workstation for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Climb ladders, bending, pushing. Must pass a medical physical exam and background check. Normal range of hearing and vision. Must be able to work extended hours during special events.
