As a Senior / Staff Software Engineer within the monetization group at Nextdoor, you'll drive impactful community-focused revenue strategies. In this role, you will collaborate with innovative teams, transforming local connections into sustainable growth.

Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, implementing, and optimizing ads measurement systems
Collaborating with cross-functional teams including backend engineers, data scientists, machine learning teams, and client teams within Ads
Analyzing large datasets to identify patterns and inform system improvements in ads measurement
Developing privacy-enduring ads measurement solutions
Leading projects from zero to one, building something from the ground up
Participating in in-person Nextdoor events such as trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and team-building exercises
Building in-person relationships with team members and contributing to Nextdoor's company culture
What You'll Bring To The Team
7-10 years of demonstrated experience working on distributed systems
Proven track record in leading large-scale projects from 0 to 1
Effective communication skills and cross-team collaboration abilities
Ads domain expertise and industry trend awareness
Proficiency in problem-solving and attention to detail
Experience with large datasets and multiple datastore technologies
Strong coding abilities in at least one language, such as Python or Kotlin
Genuine curiosity and a hunger for learning
Strong desire to serve local communities and neighbors worldwide
Eagerness to explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to reimagine work processes
Bonus Points
Prior experience in conversion modeling or probabilistic attribution
Familiarity with statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis
Knowledge of privacy-preserving data analysis methods
Rewards
Our total rewards package includes competitive compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs. Compensation varies based on skills, experience, and location.
The starting salary for this role ranges from $190,000 to $240,000 annually, potentially higher depending on proficiency level. We also expect to provide a meaningful equity grant with quarterly vesting, beginning within 3 months of your start date.
