Overview:
Our client is seeking a Staff HRIS Application Engineer to streamline the Human Resource system experience,and grow our team of HRIS experts. You will be responsible for developing, proposing, and implementing Workday tenant fixes and enhancements. The role is a key resource in providing technical support of our Workday instance.
Responsibilities:
Include tenant optimization, data integrity, reporting configuration and our client’s various Workday Modules. The applicant must be able to work with multiple teams, working cross-functionally,and adapting to various forms of input. Collaboration is also necessary to produce the best solution to address the business’ needs, leading to success. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about innovation and willing to experiment with unique solutions to complex problems. This role involves evaluating business needs and current processes for continuous improvement,and deploying scalable solutions to meet those needs.
Workday Leadership:
Serve as the Workday subject matter expert (SME) to support business initiatives and cross-functional partners
Lead system-related efforts including requirement gathering, configuration, integration development, testing, implementation, and training
Configure and optimize business processes, integrations, and governance to support operational efficiency
Stakeholder Support and Communication:
Act as a consultant to internal stakeholders to clarify business needs, define scope, assess feasibility, and align resources
Respond to requests by confirming the business need and working with the team to plan sprints by establishing realistic expectations for delivery
Communicate system changes, updates, and timelines clearly to all impacted
Teams
Technical Competencies:
Manage and provision role-based and user-based security groups and their associated permissions.
Design and maintain global time off and leave plans, accruals, carryover calculations, and eligibility rules in Workday Absence.
Develop and maintain compensation grades, grade profiles, and tier structures based on stakeholder market analysis.
Assist in the administration of compensation cycles including merit and bonus planning.
Data and Reporting:
Provide complex matrix and advanced reports using calculated values tailored to the business needs of the stakeholders
Maintain a centralized catalog of reports and dashboards to support consistent and accurate system data
Ensure data structures and outputs align with business needs and reporting
Standards
System Monitoring and Problem Resolution:
Investigate and resolve system issues with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term solutions
Apply experience and analytical skills to anticipate system needs and mitigate risks proactively
Release and Change Management:
Lead Workday release assessments to evaluate impact and readiness
Coordinate changes to processes, integrations, or configurations with clear documentation and stakeholder alignment
Ensure all changes are communicated, documented, and implemented with minimal disruption
Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for business processes and system configuration
Provide knowledge transfer and training to ensure consistent system use across

Education and Experience:
BS/BA required, preferably in a business, technology, or other quantitative field
5+ years of experience in implementation, enhancement, and/or technical support of
Workday Core HCM and supplemental modules and multi-system integrations
Hands-on Workday HCM configuration and reporting capabilities
Workday Pro Certifications (HCM, Reporting, Integrations, Security); Workday Studio experience strongly preferred
Experience with EIBs, both in and outbound both for BPs and third-party tools
3+ years of experience with Greenhouse Applicant Tracking System highly preferred
Ability to handle highly sensitive data with integrity
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including complex formulas, pivot tables, and VBA
Flexibility to pivot quickly both within and between projects
Effective written and oral communication skills
Able to work well in both team and individual environment
