KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Telecom Engineer / PM: Network Ops and Field Area Network (FAN) / RF delivery according to regulatory compliance standards for utilities The Senior Telecom Engineer, Technical Advisor will serve as the primary point of contact for key client accounts, managing complex engagements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., NERC CIP), and driving innovation in telecom network initiatives. This role requires hands-on leadership, deep technical knowledge in telecom systems, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions. Key Responsibilities Engagement Management Act as the senior point of contact for client engagements, building trusted relationships with C-level executives and stakeholders in the utilities and telecom sectors.
Oversee the delivery of managed telecom services, including Network Operations and Field Area Network (FAN), ensuring alignment with client goals and contractual obligations.
Develop and execute engagement strategies to enhance client satisfaction, retention, and expansion of managed service offerings.
Facilitate workshops and requirements-gathering sessions to define client needs, scope projects, and align solutions with industry best practices.
Service Delivery Leadership Lead a managed service team of project managers, engineers, and technical specialists to deliver high-quality telecom solutions, including Wi-Fi, OSP fiber, 4G/5G, and RF/microwave installations.
Ensure successful delivery of network connectivity projects in utility and manufacturing environments, meeting client expectations and project deliverables.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, scalable telecom network infrastructure, ensuring compliance with NERC CIP and other regulatory standards.
Manage project portfolios, including scope, schedules, budgets, and resources, using PMBOK, Agile, or hybrid methodologies to meet deliverables and KPIs.
Technical Oversight Provide strategic guidance on solution architecture for telecom systems, including FAN and network operations, ensuring seamless integration with existing client infrastructure (e.g., IP/MPLS, DNP3).
Drive best-practice solutions for telecom network modernization, leveraging technologies like industrial IoT, edge computing, and data analytics.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure technical requirements meet client standards for performance, reliability, and cybersecurity.
Oversee vendor and contractor coordination for hardware/software procurement, network installations, and system integrations, ensuring quality and adherence to SLAs.
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), such as service delivery metrics, client satisfaction, and quality, to senior leadership.
Team Leadership and Development Build and mentor a high-performing managed service team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Develop resource forecasting and capacity planning to ensure adequate staffing for client engagements and project demands.
Provide training and professional development opportunities to enhance team expertise in telecom technologies, including 4G/5G, Wi-Fi, and RF/microwave systems.
Business Development and Financial Management Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for expanding managed service contracts and upselling value-added telecom services.
Develop business cases and proposals for new engagements, articulating value propositions and ROI to secure client approvals.
Manage budgets, financial forecasting, and revenue targets for managed service engagements.
Compliance and Risk Management Ensure all managed telecom services comply with regulatory standards, including NERC CIP, FERC, and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443).
Identify and mitigate risks related to technology compatibility, network performance, and project delivery delays.
Oversee the development of disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP) to ensure seamless service delivery during outages or disruptions.
Required Bachelor's degree in Network/Telecom Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of experience in program/project management within telecommunications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven expertise in managing telecom projects, including Wi-Fi, OSP fiber, 4G/5G deployments, and RF/microwave systems.
Strong knowledge of network infrastructure technologies (e.g., IP/MPLS, DNP3, RF/microwave, edge computing) and cybersecurity standards (e.g., NERC CIP, NIST).
Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multi-vendor engagements, including contract negotiations and SLA enforcement.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet) and methodologies (PMBOK, Agile, or hybrid).
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to C-level executives and technical teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financial forecasting, and revenue targets for managed service engagements.
Preferred Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with telecom network modernization initiatives in utilities or manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with platforms such as Pathloss for RF/microwave design or network monitoring tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Grafana.
Knowledge of California utility regulations and experience working with clients that provide gas &/or electricity.
Certification in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, OPSWAT OT Cybersecurity) or NERC CIP compliance.
