Senior Systems Administrator, Lyra Technology Group
Lyra Technology Group is looking for a full-time Senior Systems Administrator to join the team at one of our operating companies, ImageQuest in Franklin, TN. The Senior Systems Administrator will ensure clients' IT systems (computers and software) are running, allowing their employees to access what they need when they need it. They will be responsible for maintaining working knowledge of specific hardware and software used by clients, provide information and training regarding information technology to serve clients and develop other engineers, and resolve complex problems.

Your work as the Senior Systems Administrator includes several components:
• Monitor system performance (servers, software, and hardware) to ensure client's hardware and software are configured properly and working as intended
• Proactively review clients' IT environment to ensure most up-to-date technology is used and supported
o Update and upgrade systems when new software is released
• Ensure smooth deployment of new applications
o Install applications needed to support clients' IT environment
o Configure new software and hardware
o Install servers, devices, and firewalls
o Communicate with client post install to verify successful install and application
o Update internal documentation to correctly document new deployment
• Maintain user accounts and access
• Manage password policies and practices to ensure security requirements are met
• Maintain working knowledge of specific hardware and software used by clients
• Manage and oversee client projects-heavy focus on networking infrastructure
• Perform routine Health Checks
• Maintain and test system backups
• Assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving escalated service tickets
• Participate in post-incident reviews
• Assist ImageQuest in continuing to offer best-in-class technology by:
o Helping assess current IT environment and business needs, then making recommendations to leverage new technology
o Analyze and improve upon technology standards to maintain a competitive edge within the market
• Establish and maintain accurate documentation of processes and responses
• Manage alerts for applications and infrastructure
• Independently identify issues
• Methodically troubleshoot complex problems
• Provide information and training regarding information technology to serve clients and develop other engineers
• Resolve complex problems in a thorough and timely manner utilizing appropriate resources
• Plan and execute new client onboarding
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the Systems Admin team
• Using their extensive experience and knowledge, mentor and develop other engineers
Our ideal Senior Systems Administrator has the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with a major in computer science, computer engineering information technology, management or related field
• 5+ years of proven hardware and software support experience
• 3-5+ years' experience working in a systems administrator role
• Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g., PowerShell)
• Deep understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, Cloud Architecture design, troubleshooting
• Advanced understanding of the OSI model and practical applications
• Experience in desktop virtualization
• Managing a multi-site AD Forest
• Expert level knowledge of server infrastructure and operating systems
• E.g., VMWare and Hyper-V, storage area networks (SAN), back up disaster recovery (BDR) solutions
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure)
• Proficiency with mobile device management (MDM) solutions (e.g., InTune)
• In-depth knowledge of networking equipment
• Knowledge of information security best practices
• Relevant Microsoft, VMWare and Cisco certifications
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention-to-detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and discretion
• Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
• Proficiency with standard business software
The targeted base compensation for this role is $100,000-$110,000 per year and will operate out of the Franklin, TN office on a hybrid basis.
