Senior Systems Engineer PURPOSE The Senior System Engineer leads key initiatives across Ascend’s enterprise application ecosystem, ensuring platforms are reliable, well-supported, and aligned with evolving business requirements.
This role takes ownership of high-impact platform efforts such as post-acquisition integrations, tool deprecation, and cross-system workflows.
Serving as a subject matter expert, the Senior System Engineer is responsible for platform design recommendations and mentoring junior team members across support, documentation, and operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES Lead platform administration efforts, including system configuration, change coordination, and license planning across enterprise tools like ServiceNow, Okta, and others. Manage high-complexity integration or migration efforts during mergers and acquisitions, from access reviews to cutover planning. Support CMDB data quality and relationship mapping by collaborating with the CMDB Manager. Serve as a final escalation point for platform support tickets and complex system issues. Propose and implement operational improvements to optimize platform performance and reduce administrative overhead. Define and maintain standard operating procedures for key platform tasks and user lifecycle processes. Mentor system engineers and associates through knowledge sharing, reviews, and onboarding. Review and document dependencies and workflows between tools to support supportability, governance, and rationalization. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure systems meet operational, security, and usability needs. Provide platform metrics and operational reports as needed for audits, system health reviews, or project updates. Other responsibilities as assigned by management. MINIMUM SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 4–5 years of experience in enterprise systems administration, platform engineering, or IT operations. Demonstrated leadership of multi-system initiatives, migrations, or integrations. Strong understanding of identity management, platform governance, and system architecture. Excellent documentation and communication skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Certifications in key platforms (e.g., ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Okta Certified Administrator). Experience in multi-client or multi-organization platform consolidation. Understanding of license and entitlement management across SaaS platforms. Prior work in an MSP or distributed enterprise IT environment.

The position is mainly sitting, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, such as laptop, server equipment, and, driving to the work site to meet with client(s). Salary Expectations:
$85,000-$90,000 The salary for this position is commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
The range is intended to reflect our commitment to attracting top talent, and the final offer will be based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's previous experience, expertise in the field, relevant certifications, and the specific requirements of the role.
