We're looking for a Sr Systems Development Engineer to lead our frontend and full-stack development efforts. In this role, you will design and implement web architecture using React, Node.js, and JavaScript while integrating with ERP systems and AWS components. You'll establish frontend development standards, lead the transformation of user experiences, and mentor senior engineers across multiple teams. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll solve supply chain technology challenges through developing and maintaining ERP extensions and customizations. Success in this role requires driving complex programs from conception to completion while fostering effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration. The ideal candidate is self-driven, results-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering excellent customer experiences through innovative solutions.
Key job responsibilities
Architect and lead the development of large-scale frontend applications using React.js and JavaScript
Drive technical decisions for frontend architecture across multiple teams and projects
Establish frontend development standards, best practices, and architectural patterns
Lead the adoption of modern frontend technologies and frameworks
Mentor senior engineers and develop frontend technical excellence across teams
Partner with UX/UI teams to ensure optimal implementation of design systems
Drive performance optimization and accessibility standards
Lead system design reviews and architecture governance

Review and approve major frontend architectural decisions

About the team
You will be a member of the Engineering team whose mission is to delight customers in their use of ERP via functionality and ease of use. We are looking for team members who can ask probing questions when dealing with customers and at the same time, delight the customers with a quick turnaround. New ideas are always welcomed as well as the willingness to be a team player.
Basic Qualifications
Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure
5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and React.js
Strong experience with RESTful APIs, JSON Web Tokens, and frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, ESBuild)
Experience in developing and implementing enterprise-level web applications and ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) and GraphQL
Experience with DynamoDB
Track record leading and mentoring technical teams
Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) and web performance optimization
Advanced knowledge of modern frontend architectures and design patterns
Experience with enterprise-level ERP system customizations and extensions
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
A strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high quality code
Adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
