Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. The system is designed with capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to organizations in locations without reliable connectivity. We are seeking a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer (ASIC) who will define requirements and deploy processes to deliver aerospace quality at an unprecedented scale. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with excellent analytical skills, technical expertise, effective communication, and a passion for developing foundry and outsourced assembly and test (OSAT) suppliers to produce high-quality, mission-critical hardware in volume production. Key responsibilities include: Owning quality performance of OSAT and foundry suppliers, including requirements definition, qualification, process validation, failure analysis, metrics reporting, and continuous improvement. Defining and scaling Kuiper’s quality system to ensure early detection of process excursions, improving product reliability and wafer yields. Testing and inspection processes and foundry process controls. Creating closed-loop mechanisms utilizing OSAT data to improve foundry processes, resulting in quality, reliability, and yield gains. Setting and monitoring OQC/IQC criteria across Kuiper’s ASIC supply chain. Managing 2nd source qualifications. Owning systems, tools, and processes used for device traceability and key quality/test metrics. Representing Kuiper Supplier Quality in cross-functional initiatives. Traveling as needed to accomplish program objectives. Being a certified AS9100D Lead Auditor. Deploying APQP/PPAP methodologies per standards like AS9145 or equivalent. Export Control Requirement: Candidates must be U.S. citizens, nationals, Green Card holders, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as refugees or asylees. A day in the life: Collaborating with product development teams as owner of ASIC quality system requirements. Improving reliability, reducing defect rates, and driving failure analysis. Serving as the face of Quality for ASIC foundry, OSAT, and component suppliers. Facilitating ASIC quality as a subject matter expert in device traceability and statistical process control. Leading resolution of quality events using structured failure analysis tools. About The Team: The Kuiper Supplier Quality team aims to develop a vendor base capable of scaling aerospace quality to new volume and cost levels. This position offers the opportunity to own quality for key categories, contribute to designing requirements and systems, and work in a data-driven, trust-based environment. Basic Qualifications: BSc or MSc in electrical engineering, materials science, applied physics, or related fields. 7+ years' experience in ASIC quality, manufacturing, testing, or failure analysis. Knowledge of statistics and data analysis tools. Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years' experience managing quality of OSAT/foundry partners. Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and failure analysis. Experience with data analysis tools (JMP or Minitab). Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent. Knowledge of industry standards (JEDEC, IPC, ISO, IATF, ANSI). ASQ Certified Quality Engineer. Amazon is an equal opportunity employer.
