Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work with engineering teams to develop and improve water vapor, peroxide, and hydrazine gas sources used in semiconductor manufacturing lithography and thin film deposition tools. The Senior Reliability Engineer will be involved in technical projects concerning the reliability of polymers, mechanical and electronic components, as well as gas and liquid storage and transport systems. This role is pivotal in upholding high standards of reliability throughout the design and manufacturing of our products. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong grasp of reliability engineering principles, product risk management, and methodologies such as FMEA and accelerated testing. Responsibilities include designing reliability studies, setting up test equipment and experiments, collaborating with external testing facilities and suppliers on studies, and assisting with root cause analysis of manufacturing and field failures. We are seeking a hands-on engineer with the initiative to contribute directly to reliability improvements and to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities: Reliability Improvement: Develop and implement reliability improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and longevity. Define reliability metrics for existing and future products. Design and build reliability test setups. Conduct component and device reliability testing and oversee external testing laboratories testing. Design for Reliability: Integrate reliability requirements into product design. Drive verification and validation of reliability requirements. Collaborate with safety, quality, design, and engineering teams to assess the reliability impact of design changes. Product Risk Management: Identify and assess product risks throughout development and the product lifecycle using tools such as dFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Physics of Failure. Help implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure product reliability and safety. Failure Analysis: Investigate product failures to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Work with cross-functional teams to address and resolve reliability-related quality issues. Support customer quality concerns and ensure timely resolution of issues. Collaborate with customer support teams to improve satisfaction and product quality.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Masters or PhD degree preferred. Certifications in reliability engineering (such as CRE) are a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on industry experience in reliability engineering within sectors such as gas delivery, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, etc. Experience designing and building reliability testing setups, performing accelerated testing, and managing laboratory space is desired. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles; proficiency in developing P&IDs and drawings; familiarity with product risk management tools (dFMEA, pFMEA, hazard assessments, etc.), and reliability improvement methodologies (Weibull analysis, accelerated testing, Fault Tree analysis, Physics of Failures, etc.). Experience with vacuum and gas systems is desirable. Experience with hazardous gases distribution systems is preferred. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analytics and reliability data analysis. Ability to compile, analyze, and summarize data to produce high-quality engineering reports. Statistics: Ability to draw statistically valid conclusions using appropriate analysis. Familiarity with JMP, Minitab, Reliasoft, Weibull++ or similar software is required. Documentation: Skill in writing clear work instructions and detailed reports, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of communicating complex technical information to cross-functional teams. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Familiarity with 8D methodology is a plus. Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, with willingness to support and share knowledge with less experienced colleagues. Flexibility: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities, working both independently and as part of a team.

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds. Must be willing and able to work in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Ability to work in an ISO Class 6 cleanroom with required cleanroom garb. This role requires working with dangerous and toxic liquids and gaseous chemicals and strictly following all safety protocols.
