Summary Our client is currently seeking individuals for a full-time Mechanical Project Engineer position located in the San Diego, CA area. With nearly a century of experience, our client prioritizes safety for its employees and clients. They offer industry-leading building information modeling (BIM), design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC services, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations. Duties and Responsibilities Project Estimating (Take-Off & Analysis)
Project Scheduling (Manpower scheduling)
Manage RFIs (Requests for Information)
Prepare Submittal Packages
Manage flow of contractor-provided submittal data
Assist in data population of forms
Prepare Project Progress Billings
Assist in technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of HVAC air equipment, piping systems, and plumbing equipment
Skills and Experience Basic working knowledge of HVAC & Plumbing design and system operation
Basic working knowledge of commercial & industrial construction sequences
Basic working knowledge of construction estimating
Basic working knowledge of testing procedures for HVAC systems
Basic working knowledge of ASHRAE data & guidelines
Average proficiency with MS Project scheduling program
Average proficiency with MS Access or other database programs
Above-average proficiency with MS Excel & Word
Above-average proficiency with Internet research
Above-average verbal & written communication skills
Strong organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data
Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil, Industrial, or Structural Engineering, or at least 5 years of industry experience as a Construction Project Engineer. Candidates should demonstrate experience in project administration, scheduling, productivity analysis, cost control, and procurement of equipment & materials.
