Duties :
The Instrumentation and Controls Division of the High Voltage Distribution (HVD) Engineering department delivers comprehensive, multi-discipline engineering design and leadership for high-voltage electric distribution projects associated with company-owned and operated substations throughout Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Team is responsible for both in-house and consultant-led designs, supporting new substation construction as well as upgrades, repairs, and modifications to existing facilities. Key areas of focus include I&C Designs (schematics, wiring, etc), project scoping, AC and DC load studies, procurement and construction support, and overall project execution. This position supports capital projects across the service territory. Support the work with consulting projects including creating and maintaining scope of work documents (SOW), creating requests for quotations (RFQs) and purchase requisitions (PRs) for consulted engineering services, establishing project milestones (e.g. 30/60/90 reviews), review and processing invoices, supporting technical reviews of the I&C designs Supporting consultations RFIs throughout projects, leading and participating in meetings with consultants to ensure targets are maintained, maintaining and improving KPIs including quality and schedule. Facilitate meetings with third-party engineering consultants (A-Es). Ensure quality and schedule compliance. Perform limited technical checks/reviews on contractor submissions. Qualifications At least a Bachelor's degree in a field that related to the sector in which the company operates. Relevant experience, as well as proficiency in basic computer programs such as the Microsoft Office suite. Excellent analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills. SAP experience is a plus. Relevant P&C and project engineering experience. Work well independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team setting with other engineers and related colleagues. Minimum 7 years of experience. Strong experience in: Working with or onboarding third-party consultants. Writing scopes of work and managing deliverables. Protection & Controls (P&C) on utility side-especially system protection. Project engineering experience is a plus.
