Position Summary:
Applies advanced knowledge of principles, theories, and industry practices and standards to opportunities within the organization. Responsible for programing, analyzing, designing, implementing and supporting critical voice network equipment, telecommunications infrastructure and services on an ongoing basis and project front. Serves as project lead as well as technical team lead.
Education, License & Cert:
2‐year degree in telecommunications or related field with 4 years’ experience working closely with Nortel/Avaya PBX systems. Certifications or additional experience can be substituted for the 2‐year degree requirement.
Experience:
Must have good working knowledge with client & server hardware and software. Microsoft suite of products including Windows OS, MS Office, O365, preferred. Must have good communication skills and a pleasant personality. Previous experience in a customer service position required.
Essential Functions:
Program and supports all aspects of computerized applications in the Telecommunications department, including but not limited to Tapit Nova call accounting system, Avaya IP Office, Xima Reporting & Call Recording, Avaya Call Pilot, Avaya CS1000 PBX, Avaya Communication Manager and the Skype/Teams for Business Conferencing.
Assume responsibility for successful implementation of projects from a Telecommunication perspective whether upgrades, startups, or physical moves.
Performs in‐depth technical programming of the Avaya PBX system.
Be knowledgeable in support of Skype/Teams Room systems and other collaboration equipment Train users on the appropriate use of the hardware devices and software applications including but not limited to Avaya IP Office, Xima Reporting & Call Recording, Skype/Teams for Business Conferencing. etc.
Work directly with Network team to plan, program, coordinate and integrate all communication systems and alarms whether hardwired or wirelessly attached.
Meet with users on a regular basis and discuss problems or concerns regarding the application.
Perform problem determination for the systems. Work with the appropriate vendor and I.S. technical personnel to troubleshoot and resolve problem.
Responsible for installation of network wiring where appropriate for computers and/or phones.
Performs capacity planning and life cycle management as it pertains to AVAYA PBX hardware components, lines, trunks, etc. Monitors incoming traffic to ensure efficient and optimal use of resources.
Other Duties:
Travel for this position is sometimes required.
