SALARY RANGE: $76,399 - $118,415
HIRING RANGE: $76,399 - $97,407
SCHEDULE: 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Monday - Friday

***This position will also be posted as a Principal Engineer (Civil Engineer III). Only one position will be filled depending on qualifications. You must apply for both positions to be considered for either the Sr. Engineer (CE II) or the Principal Engineer (CE III) position.This is a "hybrid" position with the option to work remotely up to 3 days a week pending acceptable performance.

Devoted to providing engineering support, inspection and professional civil engineering for a variety of public works, utilities, storm water, and transportation facilities/projects as well as review of public and private development projects. Perform journey-level engineering work requiring independent evaluation and analysis of issues and the exercise of judgment, education and experience to select and apply criteria to resolve problems and make recommendations.

Decision-making includes selecting the method to address a problem or issue, subject to the constraints established by management objectives and direction. Incumbents provide technical engineering services for civil engineering projects, transportation systems/facilities, or serve as construction project managers for a large project or Citywide strategic initiative.

Responsible for performing project management duties to include scope development, contract development and administration, and schedule and budget management; reviewing project documents, plans and data; preparing technical presentations, reports, plans and correspondence; drafting agreements and ordinances; responding to citizen questions; coordinating and overseeing the work of contractors and engineering consultants; performing engineering and complex fee calculations; coordinating projects with stakeholders and/or regulatory agencies; performing engineering design work; or providing technical engineering support for the planning, design, operation and construction of transportation facilities, projects and systems.
