Job Description The Sr. Staff Electrical/Imaging Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing complex medical devices from concept to production, ensuring they exceed customer expectations. You will be expected to work directly with customers to understand product needs, define specifications, develop processes, and build and test devices to those specifications. This role will focus mainly on the electrical and imaging needs required to consistently manufacture endoscopes and associated VPU/CCUs. This role is expected to bring relevant experience to the team and improve the design to exceed our customer expectations. Responsibilities Execute design, development, and validation activities throughout the product life cycle in accordance with project scope with a focus on imaging and electrical needs of the device while maintaining compliance to relevant electrical compliance standards. Utilize the Design Control process to document electrical and imaging requirements and designs. Contribute to deliverables in compliance with MDR, ISO, and EN standards. Specifically, IEC 60601, IEC 62304 and Medical Device Cybersecurity. Translate customer specifications and requirements into clear, concise performance and functional requirements. Conduct engineering evaluations, characterizations, bench testing, and other verification activities to improve and confirm electrical and imaging performance. Train and guide development of other engineers or techs. Evaluate and implement new technologies and ideas for product improvement. Work with vendors to develop custom image sensor, imaging optics and camera assemblies. Test electrical systems and imaging chain. Lighting optimization. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Image Processing with 7+ years of applicable experience, or a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or Image Processing with 5+ years of applicable experience. Strong understanding of design controls, process development, and characterization of test methods for selection, verification, and validation of components, sub-systems, and assemblies. Proficiency in modeling software like Matlab Knowledge of Image Sensors and Image Quality Measurement Experience in color imaging, colorimetry, image quality, and image processing. Excellent technical writing skills and verbal communication. Excellent internal and external communication, presentation, follow-through, and organizational skills. Proven ability to work effectively with coworkers at all levels of the organization. Proven ability to lead other engineers and/or techs in supporting aspects of process development. Excellent troubleshooting abilities Preferences Medical Device Experience VPU/CCU development – including hardware (FPGA) Knowledge of Image Signal Processing (ISP) pipelines, image fusion, computer vision algorithms, camera calibration, or computational photography.
