Job Overview: The Application Performance Management (APM) Engineer will be responsible for integration in the application performance management / web infrastructure space, on Windows & Java platforms, requiring coding experience. The role involves close collaboration with other engineering teams to enhance team integration, demonstrating broad technological exposure and deep technical knowledge in web, infrastructure, and network domains. This position provides APM engineering and data analytics expertise to configure and operate infrastructure that enables observability of critical application systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive system reliability, availability, and performance in a multi-cloud environment by operating observability platform tools that expose data for anomaly detection and decision-making.

Install and configure agents, APIs, alerts, dashboards, and data trend analysis in Datadog.

Identify performance bottlenecks, anomalous behavior, and resolve root causes of service issues.

Create and maintain documentation, videos, and other content for the observability team and engineering training.

Collaborate with application teams to understand monitoring requirements, establish standards, and improve tools and processes to maximize platform utility.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

5+ years experience with Application Performance Management tools such as Datadog, New Relic, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace.

3+ years experience implementing Datadog APM, Infrastructure, and Log monitoring solutions.

Experience with Datadog real-user and synthetic monitoring products.

Strong understanding of security, monitoring, and performance in cloud-native architectures.

Experience managing Datadog APM on Linux platforms.

Understanding of performance aspects of Java, .NET, NodeJS, Python.

Java application instrumentation with Datadog, including health rules and monitoring tuning.

Experience with AWS EC2, ECS, CloudWatch (3+ years).

Ability to analyze metrics, create dashboards, alerts, and develop AIOps rules.

Knowledge of configuration management tools like Terraform and Ansible.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with production support, change management, and escalation procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.

Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter (preferred).
