The Sr. Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, infrastructure, and data visualization to support our data-driven decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities: Create, develop, maintain, and leverage data pipelines, data models, reporting, and dashboards to solve business problems or assigned tasks in coordination with multiple teams. Develop and maintain data solutions to enable new or existing solutions and BI development for the enterprise driven data warehouse and data visualization solutions. Enhance and document workflows for complex data-related challenges by identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies in the data, and find ways to optimize data processing and storage to promote data quality through automation. Develop understanding of different WellSky solutions and become a subject matter expertise in the healthcare domain. Identify opportunities in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices and coding standards. Adhere to WellSky core values, ensure PHI data security, and adapt to changing BI technologies. Perform other job duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience At least 4-6 years relevant work experience Proven experience in database architecture and design, with the ability to develop scalable and efficient data storage solutions tailored to business needs. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including data services and infrastructure management. Demonstrated ability to architect and implement robust database and data analytics solutions that support enterprise-wide decision-making. Expertise in designing and building ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and integration across diverse systems. Proficiency in Python scripting for data manipulation, automation, and integration tasks. Strong understanding of APIs, including experience in consuming and integrating data from multiple external and internal systems. Solid foundational knowledge in data engineering and data management principles, including data governance, quality, and lifecycle management. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with DBT (Data Build Tool) for transforming, testing, and documenting data within modern data stacks. Exposure to artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and tools, with the ability to integrate AI-driven insights into data engineering workflows. Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery, including writing optimized SQL queries, managing datasets, and leveraging its analytical capabilities for large-scale data processing. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and best practices for protecting Personal Health Information (PHI), preferably with experience in the healthcare industry.
