Job Summary
Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly motivated Network Operations Technician to join the Infrastructure Deployment Services (IDS) team in Littleton, CO. As a key member of the West Region network operations team, you will support enterprise-wide networking services for Lockheed Martin’s Business Areas (BA) and the Enterprise IT organization.
You will serve as a primary technical resource responsible for sustaining, implementing, remediating, and supporting secure LAN/WAN infrastructure—including corporate, classified, program-specific, and voice networks. The role includes hands-on work with routers, switches, wireless systems, firewalls, and more, while ensuring compliance with IT policies, audit requirements, and customer regulations.

Key Responsibilities
• Support, maintain, and remediate network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, WAPs, VOIP, DNS/DHCP, Extranets)
• Provide second-level troubleshooting and incident resolution using network monitoring tools
• Interface directly with internal customers and stakeholders, including executives, to deliver technical updates and project status
• Interpret business and compliance requirements into network solutions and documentation
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate services across physical and virtual environments
• Participate in planning, testing, documenting, and implementing infrastructure solutions
• Maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and asset information
• Support development and integration of tactical and hybrid communications systems as part of 5GMIL (5G for Military) initiatives
• Support ServiceNow ticket management, equipment lifecycle, and change management processes
Desired skills
• Active DoD Secret clearance
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, Juniper, or Arista
• Experience with Software-Defined Networking (Cisco DNA Center, ACI, APIC, OpenStack)
• Experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols
• Familiarity with Wireshark and packet capture analysis
• Experience with ServiceNow, Cisco Viptela SD-WAN, Arista BCF, Juniper SRX, Infoblox, and CA Spectrum
• Knowledge of firewall and VPN infrastructure
• Experience managing vendor escalations, RMAs, and root cause analysis
• Cloud experience with AWS or Azure, including:
o Virtual networking (VPCs/VNETs), subnets, and security groups
o Integration of cloud networks with on-prem infrastructure
o Cloud-based firewalls, load balancers, and routing configuration
o Experience with cloud monitoring and network performance tools
• Support experience or awareness of 5GMIL (5G for Military) environments, including:
o Network segmentation and edge compute integration
o Secure wireless backhaul and transport design
o Application support across hybrid and tactical networks
o Military-focused network compliance and resiliency best practices
• Ability to translate corporate IT policies into actionable network solutions and support plans
