Job Summary
The Solutions Engineer is a senior-level technical leader responsible for designing, documenting, and standardizing scalable and secure IT solutions that align with client goals and the company's business objectives. This role bridges strategic intent with technical execution, accelerating solution delivery while ensuring consistency, compliance, and efficiency across all projects. Success in this role requires deep technical expertise, critical thinking, and collaborative communication across cross-functional teams. The Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role in enabling us to deliver high-quality, profitable, and repeatable services that drive client satisfaction and business growth.
This is a hybrid position requiring two days in the Integrity office.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Standardization
- Develop, document, and maintain standardized solution architectures to ensure consistency in design, estimation, and implementation.
- Establish and enforce best practices for solution development, security, and compliance.
- Define technical prerequisites, dependencies, and assumptions upfront to reduce project rework and inconsistencies.
Efficiency & Process Improvement
- Accelerate solution development by focusing on technical design and cost estimation, reducing back-and-forth discussions.
- Work closely with Sales, Technical Advisors (TAs), Engineers, and Project Managers to streamline handoffs and minimize scope creep.
- Identify and implement lessons learned to continuously refine processes and solutions.
Strategic Alignment & Business Impact
- Ensure all solutions align with long-term business goals, service capabilities, and client needs.
- Maintain a strong security and compliance focus, proactively mitigating risks across all proposed solutions.
- Support sales and business strategy by designing solutions that are not only technically sound but also profitable and scalable.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with TAs to define project scope in alignment with the client’s technology roadmap, ensuring the solution supports their long-term strategic goals.
- Partner with engineers and implementation teams to ensure smooth execution and predictable, well-defined standardized projects across multiple clients.
- Collaborate with Sales Business Advisors (SBA’s and TA’s) to create final proposals and assist with presenting solutions to clients.
- Documentation and writing technical processes for other team members to use across multiple clients in projects or troubleshooting of issues
Technical Leadership & Mentorship
- Serve as a senior technical authority, guiding best practices across teams.
- Provide mentorship to TAs, engineers, and project managers to enhance technical competency and understanding of the solution design and improving their technical skills.
Additional Duties:
- Participate in the on-call rotation as required.
- Attend and contribute to professional and technical training sessions, sharing key insights for individual and organizational improvement.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support business objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- 7+ years of experience in IT solution design, architecture, or consulting, preferably within an MSP environment.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, VMware, or equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Solution Design & Estimation:
- Ability to design scalable, cost-effective, and secure IT solutions.
- Experience with project estimation, bill of parts creation, and licensing models.
- Vendor selection and procurement processes.
- Strong Excel and writing skills to communicate solution components and needs analysis
Networking & Infrastructure:
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, OSPF, STP, and subnetting.
- Experience with firewalls, switches, and routers (Sonicwall, Meraki, Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet, etc.).
- Knowledge of SD-WAN, routing, switching, wireless technologies.
Cloud Computing & Virtualization:
- Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Virtual Machines, Azure AD, networking, Azure Virtual Desktop).
- AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, etc.) is a plus.
- Virtualization platforms, SAN, and Clustering (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).
Microsoft 365 & Productivity Solutions:
- Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
- Microsoft Defender for Business & Compliance Solutions.
- Identity Management with Entra ID Connect, Intune, Conditional Access Policy.
Storage & Backup Solutions:
- SAN/NAS solutions and best practices.
- Backup & disaster recovery solutions (Veeam Backup).
- Business continuity planning and DR strategy development.
Server & Endpoint Management:
- Windows Servers (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, RDS).
- Scripting with RMM tools and Powershell
- Experience with Linux-based systems is a plus.
- Endpoint management solutions (Intune, RMM tools like Automate).
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Sitting for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Occasional lifting and moving of IT equipment (e.g., laptops, desktops, peripherals, or small networking devices) weighing up to 40 lbs.

- Office setting: Open-space office environment with shared workstations and collaborative areas.
- Remote work: Requires a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace, free of distractions, for focus and productivity.
