As a Cloud Deployment Software Engineer, you’ll join SAS’s Software-as-a-Service team to help architect and build the cloud backbone of our next-generation platform—starting with SAS® Viya® Workbench. You’ll play a pivotal role in automating the software lifecycle, shaping DevOps strategy, and enabling seamless, secure deployments through infrastructure-as-code. You’ll be part of a talented, collaborative team that values ideas, initiative, and innovation. In this hands-on, high-impact role, you’ll play a key role in efforts to codify the full software lifecycle—from development and testing to deployment and delivery—through robust CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC). You’ll collaborate with a great team that cares about each other and the ideas of all. You’ll contribute to shaping the future of cloud at SAS from the ground up. As a DevOps Engineer, you will: Partner with team members and architects to craft and evolve enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines and DevOps strategies for a flagship SaaS platform Apply hands-on engineering skills daily to build and refine automation that accelerates deployment and delivery Infuse the team with insights and best practices from modern DevOps tooling and methodologies Translate high-level architecture into secure, scalable implementations using infrastructure-as-code Drive sprint success across the full development lifecycle—from commit to production Build reliable unit tests and guardrails that uphold quality and stability Support internal stakeholders and shape user-friendly documentation with technical writers Champion secure engineering standards aligned to SAS’s platform-wide security goals Required Qualifications 5-7 years of experience working on large complex software products as a developer. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field. Proven software engineering skills, with hands-on experience in DevOps development Recent, hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, including: Networking, service discovery, pod management, and troubleshooting deployment issues. Use of tools such as kubectl, K9s, Lens, Helm, and authoring YAML manifests Proficiency with automation and IaC tools like Ansible and Terraform Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools including Git, GitHub Workflows, ArgoCD, Jenkins Solid command of Linux/UNIX systems and shell scripting Experience deploying and managing infrastructure on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure Preferred qualifications Proficiency in Go, Python, Bicep, and Bash Experience designing scalable cloud-native software architectur World-Class Benefits Highlights include...
