The Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Program is the Navy's Flagship Signal's Intelligence (SIGINT) system; installed on U.S. Navy ships, Coast Guard platforms, Foreign Navy's and shore sites. Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic is the In-Service Engineering Agency (ISEA) responsible for lifecycle support, from development through transition. This support includes; but is not limited to; engineering, requirements analysis, testing, technical writing, fleet technical support, training, procurement, configuration management, production, warehousing, drafting and repair. This support, ultimately, is designed to ensure the deployed SSEE systems and Navy operators are positioned for success against our Nation's adversaries.
The Software Engineer will be a member of the SSEE team focusing on developing services and applications in a Linux/Windows/DevSecOps based environment. Engineering will be performed on Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) and National Security Agency Network (NSANet) connected systems. The ideal candidate will have a history of direct involvement with successful software development, testing and sustainment. Providing on-site development and support to the SSEE family of systems Refactoring legacy Java/JavaScript code for efficiency enhancements Supporting with AWS environment and software development Building modular and highly reusable code Self-directing research including: decomposition of existing systems and design of new systems and configurations Researching and implementing integrations between various new/existing systems to provide new functionality Troubleshooting existing Java code Researching and recommending new innovative system features as well as improvements for existing system functionality #LI-LL1
Requirements Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance Minimum of five plus (5+) years of software development experience Coding experience in one or more of the following: Java Python Node.js
Strong experience developing/integrating RESTful APIs Experience with CI/CD pipeline common tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, BitBucket or similar) and practices Strong experience with multi-threaded, asynchronous or event driven code Experience with source control applications such as Git or SVN Must currently hold a DoD 8570-compliant IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within six months Developed communication skills and the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely, employing technical writing techniques Self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas Team player, dedicated to program support, capable of multitasking and working several complex and diverse tasks with simultaneous or near simultaneous deadlines Desired Skills Familiarization with container concepts Experience with cloud technology platforms such as AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud Experience with real-time streaming data and/or socket programming Experience with RedHat based Linux Experience creating and deploying Linux services Experience creating and deploying an RPM Understanding of network fundamentals Clearance Information
SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET / SCI ELIGIBILITY
