deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL) Position Description: deciBel Research seeks an experienced Software Engineer to support the Ground Based Midcourse (GMD) Weapon System (GWS). The successful candidate will perform software engineering activities on the on the GWS Fire Control (GFC) software team, and will be part of the team that writes the software (currently ~1.5million lines of code) that controls the missile defense system that protects the US. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand, implement, and test existing and new capabilities and algorithms and may participate in code modernization and translating Ada code to C++. Many of the algorithms and capabilities implemented by the GFC team are mathematics and physics based complex solutions that will be highly visible to the GWS customer, Missile Defense Agency (MDA). You will also be expected to support reviews of requirements and test cases that are developed in support of the GFC software team. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM related field. Experience Requirements: 5+ years with Bachelor's degree; 3+ years with Master's degree Demonstrated ability to develop Software in Ada or C++or Java Recent MATLAB and Python Experience Unix/Linux Operating System Experience Special Skills Desired: Highly experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations Experience with automated software requirements, testing and analysis Experience with the MDA GMD program Experience with Agile Project Management tools (Jira/Confluence) and DevSecOps tools and methods (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics Willingness to become highly proficient with Ada software development Applicant selected must have an active Secret security clearance . Must be a U.S. Citizen.
