A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do

Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions for the GCCS-J Command and Control system—DoD’s trusted platform for joint operations.

Support the full software development lifecycle in an Agile environment, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and testing.

Collaborate across geographically dispersed teams to deliver resilient, scalable, and efficient code supporting real-world mission execution.

Drive enhancements and modernization efforts by integrating emerging technologies into existing baselines.

Is This You?

Education: Bachelor's degree in STEM or related technical field

Experience: 3–5+ years (II–III) of professional software development

Clearance: U.S. Citizen with Interim Secret and ability to obtain TS/SCI

Traits: Self-starter with strong communication skills, problem-solving mindset, and a passion for mission-driven development

Core Skills

Required:

Proficiency in Java, Object-Oriented Design, and one or more build ecosystems (e.g., Maven)

Familiarity with unit testing, software documentation, and Agile development methodologies

Strong understanding of software lifecycle and ability to interpret static code analysis

Effective communicator and collaborative team player with attention to detail

Preferred:

Programming languages: C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, Perl, JavaScript, Ansible

Frameworks: Spring, Vue.js

Tools: Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Confluence

Platforms: Windows, Linux, Virtual Machines, OCI Containers

Concepts: DevSecOps, TDD, CI/CD, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)

C2 Systems, STIG compliance, and networking fundamentals a plus
