Job Description
Software Engineer HPC Infrastructure (Linux) TS/SCI with Polygraph
Join a forward-leaning mission team developing and maintaining the software backbone that powers High Performance Computing (HPC) systems. As a Software Engineer, you'll work in a Linux environment supporting large-scale compute infrastructure, container orchestration, and automated systems management. Your code will help drive performance, scalability, and reliability across some of the most secure and advanced environments in the world.
What You'll Do:
Design, build, and maintain infrastructure management software supporting HPC systems in a secure Linux environment
Develop solutions in Python and Rust, scripting and automating tasks using Bash/Python
Manage deployments using containerization technologies (Docker, PodMan, containerd)
Automate configuration and provisioning using tools like Ansible
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI, Jenkins, and Git
Troubleshoot and debug software and operational issues across distributed systems
Contribute to secure software delivery, system performance, and reliability
Desired Exposure to Tools & Environments:
Data center infrastructure tools (e.g., NetBox)
Observability and analytics platforms (e.g., Splunk)
Identity and access management solutions (e.g., Keycloak)
Secret management systems (e.g., HashiCorp Vault)
Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies
Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
What You Bring:
One of the following combinations of education and experience:
Masters degree in Computer Science (or related) + 5 years of SWE experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science (or related) + 7 years of SWE experience
9 years of relevant software engineering experience in lieu of a degree
Strong Linux command-line experience and comfort working in shell environments
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or Rust)
Experience with containerization, automation, and deployment frameworks
CI/CD experience with Git-based workflows
Active TS/SCI with polygraph (required)
