Employment Type: Full-time Job Description: At PlayStation, we're looking for a full stack engineer with a strong foundation in software development and a desire to grow in cloud-native technologies. As a Software Engineer II, you'll contribute to services that enhance the player experienceworking closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver reliable, maintainable systems. You'll have opportunities to learn from senior team members, build real-world services, and deepen your knowledge of backend development at scale.
What You'll Do: Help develop and maintain backend services that support game features and player experiences.
Work closely with teammates to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
Assist in troubleshooting issues, writing tests, and supporting service reliability.
Learn and apply best practices in cloud development and backend service design.
Contribute to code reviews and collaborate with peers in a fast-paced Agile environment.
What We're Looking For: Solid programming skills in Java or similar object-oriented language.
Understanding of core computer science principles (e.g., data structures, algorithms).
Exposure to building simple web services, APIs, or backend applications.
Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Some experience writing automated tests (unit/integration).
Interest in cloud technologies (such as AWS) and containerization tools (like Docker).
Eagerness to learn observability practices (metrics, logging, tracing).
A collaborative attitude, willingness to ask questions, and strong communication skills.
