Software Engineer 4
New Yesterday
You’ll join a small, senior agile pod building real-time command-and-control and sensor-fusion micro-services for a next-generation missile-defense system that protects . and allied forces. Your focus is low-latency Java 17 services that ingest multi-domain sensor feeds and deliver fire-control quality tracks to Patriot, Aegis, THAAD, and GBSD interceptors.
Responsibilities
Design, code, and unit-test Java 17 / Spring Boot algorithms that merge radar, EO/IR, and satellite data in Own the full SDLC: requirements, architecture, implementation, CI/CD, integration, and field test support.
Containerize services (Podman, OCI) and deploy on hardened RHEL nodes through air-gapped Jenkins pipelines.
Tune JVM GC, thread pools, and network I/O to meet deterministic real-time performance.
Collaborate with systems, cyber, and test engineers in 2-week sprints; provide technical mentorship to mid-level developers.
Generate RMF evidence, remediate STIG & Nessus findings, and support accreditation reviews.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s in CS, EE, Math, or related field.
8 + years modern Java development (multithreading, performance tuning).
Spring Boot REST services and containerized deployment on Linux.
Experience in classified or DoD C2, avionics, or real-time sensor-processing domains.
Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility; ability to work 100 % on-site.
Preferred qualifications
Master’s degree and 10 + years in missile-defense, radar, or sensor-fusion programs.
Kalman filtering, IMM, or similar tracking algorithms.
