Who Youll Work With
We are seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented Software Development Engineer in Manufacturing Test. You will collaborate with Engineering, Platform Design, CM Partners, CA personnel, and other functions. You will help build test software to validate high-speed digital designs and ensure high yields in manufacturing Arista Network products used in data centers and AI applications.
What Youll Do
The Manufacturing Test team develops test scripts and plans for final system testing of switches, automates processes, debugs failures, and supports daily operations. You will be involved from early project conception to final testing before shipping. Your role includes working with hardware, platform, and software teams to support new product development, improve yields, and add customer-specific configurations. You will play a key role in validating builds and identifying manufacturing defects to enhance yield at the contract manufacturer.
Support new product development and drive design for test excellence.
Participate in hardware specification, design, development, and testing.
Develop and implement test scripts using Python and/or Go.
Create web GUI interfaces and data mining tools using frameworks like Django and databases like MariaDB.
Develop manufacturing test plans based on hardware specifications.
Manage procurement and release of testing infrastructure.
Design for DFX: DFC, DFQ, DFM, DFR, DFT.
Perform testing functions for new and existing products.
Lead defect reduction initiatives and work with teams to resolve issues.
Evaluate and adopt new test technologies.
Improve manufacturing testing processes for efficiency and quality.
Enhance design verification processes to improve yield and reduce defects.
Create documentation for test processes and best practices.
Debug complex system problems and define debug processes.
Manage test capacity, assets, and budgets.
Provide technical support for systemic defects, line stops, and quality issues.
Maintain test programs and scripts at manufacturing sites.
Qualifications
2-5+ years of experience as a Test Engineer in manufacturing (relevant college experience considered).
Experience with liquid-cooled manufacturing processes is a bonus.
Proficiency in Object-Oriented programming, especially Python and/or Go.
Knowledge of Linux systems and networking.
Experience with SQL and database querying.
Experience with version control systems like Git or Perforce.
Basic understanding of testing concepts.
Experience with hardware system testing, especially in networking products, is a plus.
Experience with web GUIs and data mining frameworks like Django, MySQL is a plus.
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $116,000 to $146,000, depending on location, skills, and experience. Additional bonuses and equity may apply, along with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and more. Details will be provided during the hiring process.
