Role: Software Dev Engineer II

Location: Minneapolis, MN, US - Onsite 3 days a week

Duration: 7 Months Contract

Job Description

The Fleet Tracking and Telematics team is looking for a software development engineer who can supplement our team. This role will be responsible for developing Kotlin/Java applications that will be deployed to the AWS cloud. Understanding of AWS cloud services is preferred but not required. You will be working alongside product managers, software engineers and hardware engineers on the team. Primary responsibilities will be designing, developing, debugging, reviewing and testing cloud services. They must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and are able to work independently.

Preferred coding skills: Java/Kotlin or Typescript. Other desired technical skills include Amazon CDK, MQTT and AWS cloud services. A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience is required.

You will work with a diverse team of Hardware and Software engineers who will work alongside you to innovate and deliver solutions for middle mile transportation. Our mission is to deploy hardware devices, firmware and the cloud services to track and collect telemetry from our assets on the road and under the roof. We work with internal customers in operations, planning and transportation. This team has extremely high ownership to ensure robust, quality and accurate solutions.

Basic qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
