Job Description:
The client is seeking an engineer with 11-15 years of experience. The candidate will provide assessments of technical and operational practices based on leading industry standards specific to the requested technology.
Complete Description:
The contractor shall provide an RF Engineer with at least five years of experience working at a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). The RF Engineering Consultant will be responsible for working with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, software, and programs. Responsibilities include designing/testing radio code plugs, validating radio and system performance, and evaluating new communication devices.
The RF Engineering Consultant will perform technical work in the fields of LMR and wireless communications system engineering, design, and implementation. Duties include program review, licensing compliance, requirements gathering, design review, change management, and system acceptance. Additional responsibilities include RoIP system engineering, radio code plug design/programming, and conducting planning to meet communication needs. The consultant will analyze hardware/software performance characteristics to ensure system compatibility and performance.
Skills:
Subject Matter Expert in complex enterprise projects
Master's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
Experience working in a PSAP (minimum 5 years)
Interoperable radio experience (minimum 3 years)
Land Mobile Radio experience (minimum 3 years)
Radio network coverage and interference analysis (minimum 3 years)
Experience with RF engineering tools including Wizard and drive test tools (minimum 3 years)
Developing fleetmaps, code plugs, and programming radios for public safety (minimum 3 years)
Managing Motorola User Configuration Manager (minimum 3 years)
Troubleshooting wireless systems including cell, microwave, LMR, UHF, etc. (minimum 3 years)
Experience with public safety infrastructure (minimum 3 years)
Experience with P25 radio networks (minimum 3 years)
Knowledge of public safety communications and interoperability (minimum 3 years)
Knowledge of LTE and WiMAX standards (minimum 3 years)
Understanding of PSAP operations (minimum 3 years)
Wireless communications theory and practice (minimum 3 years)
