As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Oracle Health, you will tackle exciting technical challenges and have the opportunity to influence the future of healthcare infrastructure. You'll work on key Oracle Health Core Platform products, focusing on building reliable, scalable, and secure systems in the cloud (OCI).
What You'll Do: Own and Manage Services : Take full responsibility for the services you work on—understanding every aspect of their behavior and performance. Collaborate with developers to ensure these services are mission-critical, secure, and scalable. Collaborate on Service Design : Partner with development teams to improve service architecture. Your input will guide the evolution of Oracle Health products, ensuring top-tier performance and reliability. Ensure Operational Excellence : Dive deep into service performance, troubleshooting, and optimizing systems. From security patches to performance tuning, you'll ensure our services run smoothly and securely. Champion Automation : Embrace automation to eliminate manual work and reduce technical debt. Automation should be second nature to you. Prevent Issues Before They Happen : Once an issue is fixed, you’ll focus on preventing it from happening again, ensuring faster resolutions in the future. Be the Go-To Expert : As the service owner, you'll be the expert when complex issues arise. Your deep understanding of our systems and their dependencies will make you the go-to person for troubleshooting. Drive Curiosity and Innovation : Be a curious engineer who loves to understand and improve the technologies powering our services. Key Responsibilities: Provision resources to ensure efficient system operations. Design system architectures that minimize downtime and maximize performance. Monitor applications for issues and resolve them quickly to maintain high availability. Work closely with engineers to troubleshoot and document root causes of problems. Support migration efforts, including moving databases from Sybase to Oracle ADB in OCI. Implement and maintain robust security measures and ensure compliance with standards. Oversee data migrations and ensure seamless transitions. Design and scale applications for performance and reliability in OCI. Maintain and improve various environments for ongoing system reliability. Ensure your services are optimized for networking, security, and storage. What We’re Looking For: Technical Expertise : You have 5+ years of experience managing large-scale, customer-facing products. You’re skilled in Linux, networking, and TCP/IP. Strong Coding Skills : You’re comfortable scripting in languages like Python, Ruby, Bash, or Terraform. Cloud & DevOps Tools : You’ve worked with tools like Chef, Ansible, and various DevOps toolchains. Automation & Orchestration : You understand the importance of automating processes to drive efficiency. Problem-Solving Pro : You approach troubleshooting with a methodical mindset, quickly pinpointing and resolving complex issues. Team Player : You’re collaborative and eager to learn, with a focus on continuous improvement. Qualifications: Experience with server hardware configuration, Linux internals, and internet services like DNS, HTTP, etc. Skilled in scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Bash, Terraform, . Proficiency in monitoring, instrumentation, and the DevOps toolchain. Understanding of IT security and compliance standards. Experience in defining and documenting technical architecture for scalable systems. Bonus : Experience with Oracle databases and OCI. US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
