Position Summary:

As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you will take on the responsibility of preparing traffic studies and designs with minimal supervision. You will work collaboratively with team members to produce high-quality deliverables and contribute to the growth and success of our team. Additionally, you will supervise traffic engineers in their preparation of traffic studies and designs and manage traffic-related projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and meet client expectations. You will also prepare traffic engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E) for various infrastructure projects, as well as draft proposals for traffic engineering projects. This role involves a key focus on strategic planning, budgeting, and client communication. It is an ownership-track position and is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader. Manage work scope, schedule, and budget of traffic engineering design projects. Prepare plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, ramp metering, transportation electrical systems, signing, pavement delineation, and construction stage traffic handling. Prepare traffic operations analysis to support traffic design projects. Prepare proposals for traffic engineering design projects. Requirements BS in Civil or Electrical Engineering Registered as a Professional Engineer in Civil, Electrical, or Traffic Engineering. preferably in California. If registered outside California, it is expected to be registered in California within 2 years. 10+ years of experience in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, ramp metering, transportation electrical systems, signing, pavement delineation, and construction stage traffic handling. Effective communication skills, written and verbal. Proficiency in using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
