As a Senior Traffic Engineer/Project Manager in Miami, Florida, you will be part of a growing team working on large-scale transportation projects. You will lead the Florida Traffic Engineering Group, pursue new work, perform traffic engineering services, and prepare documentation for various projects. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Lead on Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) or municipal/local government contracts and projects Perform and review complex traffic engineering calculations Prepare and oversee traffic engineering design, analysis, plans, and construction documents; author technical reports, specifications, and provisions Collaborate with senior technical staff Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering support staff Develop cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and project scope/fee documents Manage project performance including staffing, budget, schedule, and quality assurance Conduct site investigations, identify problems, evaluate solutions, and recommend actions Develop and maintain client relationships Assist in project proposals and presentations Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Technical Skills: Proficiency with Highway Capacity Software, SYNCHRO, and CORSIM/VISSIM Soft Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, clients, and stakeholders Effective relationship-building with clients and team members Comfortable speaking publicly and interacting with regulatory agencies and contractors Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems and learn new skills Interest in diverse assignments Education/Experience The minimum qualifications are: Bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering 8-12 years of highway design experience Florida P.E. license or ability to obtain within 1 year The ideal candidate will also have: Project management experience on FDOT projects Knowledge of FDOT design manuals and related procedures Experience with complex geometric projects Participation in technical societies Master’s degree in civil or transportation engineering Work Environment & Benefits Flexible office scheduling options Remote collaboration capabilities Periodic out-of-town travel Overtime as needed to meet deadlines Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000, with potential annual bonuses Benefits Offering comprehensive benefits including: Competitive pay and performance bonuses 401(k) with matching Employee Stock Ownership Plan Health and wellness plans Financial wellness programs Work-life balance initiatives Our Culture We value diversity and inclusion, providing opportunities for growth through webinars, leadership training, mentorship, recognition, and more.
