Role Description:
As a member of our development team, you will contribute to the advancement of existing RDI products and contribute to the creation of new products not yet released to the marketplace. We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer with a solid understanding of designing and executing various lab experiments, electrical troubleshooting, thermal testing, and the assembly of small mechanical/electrical assemblies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to design and execute test plans for mechanical and electrical assemblies Assembling and troubleshooting small mechanical / electrical assemblies Design or select appropriate test equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation to ensure accurate and repeatable results Assists in developing project timelines by defining required project tasks and estimating these tasks Assist with the development of standard work, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives in the testing process Required Skills and Experience: At least 3 years commercial experience testing and troubleshooting electrical/mechanical assemblies Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering, or a related field Ability to assemble small mechanical/electrical assemblies Ability to develop and follow procedures while testing devices Experience using various measuring tools (e.g. calipers, dial indicators, temperature probes, etc.) Experience using small power tools Ability to work effectively in a team environment collaborating with a cross-functional team Self-motivated, results driven, customer focused Ability to estimate effort required to implement identified tasks Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic computer skills running on Windows OS Preferred Skills: Experience working with camera systems Ability to solder small components Ability to load firmware / software onto embedded systems Cable harness fabrication/assembly Ability to read technical drawings and schematics Familiarity with Linux including installation, troubleshooting, and networking Experience with MatLab or LabVIEW used to capture data during experiments Familiarity with thermal testing of mechanical and electrical assemblies Position Details: Full-time Located in the Knoxville, TN RDI headquarters Competitive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k Why work at RDI Technologies: RDI Technologies is experiencing a rapid expansion in our business both in the volume of sales and the breadth of product offerings.
