Role Summary As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert (SME) in enterprise infrastructure. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of core infrastructure platforms, while also playing a critical role in operational reliability and incident response. Your ability to solve problems, plan effectively, and deliver results in a secure and scalable manner will be central to your success.
This role is split between strategic project work and Tier 3 operational escalation, requiring deep technical proficiency, excellent communication, and a strong sense of accountability. Key Responsibilities Functional/Technical Skills Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure technologies, including: Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Cloud, Security platforms
Administer Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and enterprise print services
Manage backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam)
Automate routine infrastructure tasks using scripting (PowerShell, VB, or Bash)
Problem Solving Serve as a Tier III escalation point for infrastructure incidents
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, application, and hardware issues
Remediate security alerts per incident response timelines
Proactively monitor performance and resolve anomalies
Drive for Results Lead infrastructure initiatives from evaluation to deployment
Own the delivery and documentation of projects and system upgrades
Ensure infrastructure meets performance, availability, and compliance goals
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to achieve results
Customer Focus Act as liaison across IT, security, users, and business stakeholders
Deliver reliable services and support that prioritize user experience
Communicate status and resolution clearly to all stakeholders
Learning on the Fly Continuously scan the market for infrastructure/security innovations
Lead proof-of-concept evaluations of new tools/platforms
Recommend strategic upgrades for operational/security advantage
Planning Translate business and security requirements into technical designs
Develop and maintain runbooks, configuration standards, and SOPs
Build solutions with scalability, redundancy, and security by design
Contribute to high-availability and disaster recovery strategies
Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
5–7 years in enterprise infrastructure engineering
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in project/operations hybrid role
Preferred Familiarity with enterprise storage (NetApp, SAN)
Experience with relational databases (MS SQL, MySQL)
Exposure to macOS and Apple device management
Additional Details Occasional travel (5–10%) required
Participation in on-call rotation for third-level support
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
