Remote and Hybrid Support Available! *Candidates are encouraged to support us remotely but must be willing to relocate to or reside within the United States. * Willingness to attend staff meetings and site visits in the Atlanta, GA metro area is required. The Challenge: Perform conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design for medium to large scale utilities/substations. Conduct advanced engineering studies and calculations to ensure optimal performance. Implement Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation physical design projects. Create and review bills of materials for substation physical projects. Develop and review proposals and scopes of work for substation physical projects. Provide engaging technical presentations to enhance team skills and knowledge. Collaborate with clients (including site visits) to ensure their satisfaction. Offer leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Utilize excellent communication skills to align internal teams and client expectations with project goals. What you will bring to the table: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field with over eight years of Substation physical design experience. Leadership experience in executing substation projects. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with the team and clients. Capability to lead bids and proposal efforts for utility clients. Experience performing quality control checks on substation design initiatives. Ability to supervise a small team effectively. Proficiency in reading and designing substation physical drawings. Ability to design protection and control drawings. Experience creating and validating bills of materials for physical substations. A keen contributor to develop physical application documents for substation projects. Knowledge of grounding studies, lightning protection, and lighting studies. A commitment to attending site visits with clients. It would be beneficial if you had: A Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) License. A Master’s degree in a related field. Experience with QA/QC processes. Working knowledge of protection and control design. Experience with BUS calculations. Familiarity with WinIGS or CDEGS software.
