We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile C/C++/Spring Boot Java Developer with strong DevOps engineering experience to join our Claims ART team. This role blends deep hands-on development experience with containerized applications and system-level C/C++ programming on Linux, with expertise in Azure DevOps automation, infrastructure, and CI/CD practices. You will work closely with development and operations teams to build, deploy, and maintain critical applications and ensure smooth integration and delivery pipelines across both legacy and modern cloud-based environments.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale backend modules in C/C++ and front-end modules in Java.
Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to troubleshoot and optimize CI/CD workflows.
Create and manage Azure DevOps pipelines and container deployment processes.
Monitor application health using observability tools like Datadog.
Document infrastructure, deployment scripts, and operational handoffs.
Provide leadership in problem-solving and root cause analysis across development and production environments.
Engage in knowledge transfer and mentorship within the team to grow Azure and DevOps maturity.
Qualifications
Development Skills: Strong knowledge in C/C++ programming on RHEL 8 Linux OS
Strong understanding of IPC, memory management, core dumps, debugging using gdb/wdb
Ability to reverse engineer legacy code and translate into GoLang or Spring Boot
Familiarity with Java Swing, Java REST/SOAP, Spring Boot technologies
Comfortable with PL/SQL development on Oracle 19C
Exposure to Golang or low-code platforms
IDEs: Visual Studio, Eclipse, Putty, Exceed
DevOps Skills: Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Feeds, App Services, AKS)
Deep understanding of CI/CD, including pipeline scripting, YAML, and GitOps practices (ArgoCD)
Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Podman/Docker, Terraform, Ansible
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog (logs, metrics, tracing)
Experience supporting deployment to Azure APIM, Azure Front Door, Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Strong skills in Linux Administration, Shell/Python scripting, Weblogic, and Apache
Admin-level experience with GitHub, Rundeck, and artifact management
Must Have skills: C/C++ Development on Linux/RHEL 8 Strong in IPC, parent-child processes, memory management
Debugging with gdb, analyzing core dumps
Able to reverse engineer and modernize legacy C/C++ code
Java/Spring Boot Development Experience with Java REST/SOAP services
Java Swing experience preferred for GUI modernization
PL/SQL with Oracle 19C Writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL procedures
Azure DevOps Pipelines (CI/CD) YAML scripting for pipelines
Creating templates and reusable tasks
Containerization & Orchestration: Kubernetes (AKS), Helm Charts, Podman/Docker
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform and Ansible
Monitoring/Observability: Hands-on with Datadog for logs, tracing, metrics
GitOps & Source Control: GitHub (Admin/Developer), Argo CD
Scripting & Automation: Shell scripting (Bash) for deployment automation and health checks
Python or Perl scripting for integration, tooling, and CI extensions
Agile Engineering Mindset: Familiarity with Agile ceremonies and workflows (Sprint planning, ART syncs)
Prioritize and estimate DevOps stories in backlog, collaborate cross-functionally
Preferred/Nice to Have: Experience with MTV Claims System or general healthcare IT
Familiarity with COTS applications
JSP, PERL scripting experience
ODS/LDAP, SiteMinder Administration
Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-900)
Exposure to agile methodologies and experience participating in Scrum/ART teams
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
