Candidates who would fit well in this position have an educational background in computer science or related degree, ideally possess some real-world experience working in collaborative, enterprise environments, are knowledgeable of the C#/.NET stack and/or modern web frameworks (especially React/NodeJS, etc), collaborate well with high-pace, high-performing agile teams, and are passionate about personal and team growth.Duration of Employment: This position has a 2-year duration and will include benefits such as (medical, health, dental, 401k). Eligibility for these benefits will be based on the eligibility requirements as determined by the BD Total Rewards policy. If at the end of that period you have not been offered or have not accepted another position within BD, your employment will be terminated, and you will not be eligible for severance per Company policy or plan.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform software design and implementation, following coding guidelines and considering system characteristics to produce optimal performance, reliability, and maintainabilityConduct software evaluation and testing of own software, software from other engineering staff, and third-party softwareProvide technical documentation for the design, implementation and testing of the softwareAttend design review meetings as needed to adhere to the software development proceduresDocument and repair errors related to softwareEnhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshopsWork with cross-functional project teams to complete Product Engineering projects with minimal guidanceDevelop cohesive interpersonal working relationships with all peers and team membersRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fieldMinimum 5 years of progressive responsibility in Research & Development rolesStrong proficiency in C#/.NET stack and/or modern web frameworksExperience with source code management tools (e.g., GitHub) and work tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)Database familiarity (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, non-relational databases)Strong written and oral communication skillsDemonstrated capability for critical thinkingStrong sense of teamwork and collaborationCustomer/client-oriented mindsetWillingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)Preferred QualificationsMaster's or advanced degreeExperience with React/NodeJS frameworksExperience with microservices architecturesExperience with both on-premise and cloud native system deploymentsExperience with container frameworksKnowledge of security implementation (e.g., TLS/PKI, OAuth 2.0)Experience with monitoring, management, observability, and log collation systemsExperience operating in agile development environmentsExperience with healthcare environmentsExperience with cloud-based technologies (AWS, GCF, Azure)Experience with REST architectureExperience with RPC protocolsExperience interacting with global teamsAt BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
