This position is intended to be on-site working with local and remote counterparts. However, for the right candidate, we will consider remote or hybrid work. What you’ll do Role As the early hire at GroundControl, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the product and engineering culture for the future of the company. You will work directly with the founding team across engineering, product, and customer success. Your responsibilities include: Owning the software solutions deployed to customers Contributing to our Next.js application and Python/Golang serverless functions to improve reliability and advance the product roadmap Triaging issues, identifying root causes, and coordinating next steps Interfacing directly with end-users to translate needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints Who You Are Core Requirements Strong software engineering background (5+ years) from industry At least 5 years of experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript, React in production systems Experience building scalable and responsive web-based user interfaces Ability to empathize with end-users, translating needs into features, and balancing user experience with engineering constraints to deliver complete solutions Must be a US or Canadian citizen located in the United States or Canada to satisfy regulatory requirements Desired Requirements Experience with Python and/or Golang Experience working with LLMs Experience with AWS, particularly GovCloud Significant experience writing test suites for React applications (Jest, Playwright) Deep knowledge of relational databases, especially Postgres Experience with enterprise software and features required by that customer segment What We Value Extreme Ownership: You will talk directly with customers from needs, to design, to production code.
