Who we're looking for Zendesk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Ticket Platform team! Our mission is to improve the performance and resilience of Zendesk Support’s backend application by evolving technologies and development practices. Bring your skills and experience to implement cutting-edge solutions within high-reliability systems.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with a small team to modernize our backend stack, implement impactful platform changes, and develop best practices.
Ensure code quality, reliability, and stability through high-quality code and comprehensive testing.
Participate in technical discussions and create durable documentation.
Contribute to team operations and growth initiatives.
Mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of software development experience.
Expertise in backend frameworks and methodologies, especially Ruby and Rails.
Strong understanding of application development, GraphQL, REST, systems architecture, and best practices.
Experience designing and working on enterprise-scale projects.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with platform development and server-side programming in Java, Ruby, Python, or similar.
Experience with large-scale relational and non-SQL databases such as DynamoDB.
Open-source contributions or active GitHub profile.
Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Tech Stack
Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, MySQL/Aurora, Redis/Memcached, Git/Github, Spinnaker, Kafka, Kubernetes, DynamoDB.
Monitoring and analytics tools including Datadog, Rollbar, BigQuery, Sentry, AWS ecosystem.
The annualized base salary range for this US position is $145,000 - $217,000, potentially including bonuses and benefits. Compensation will be based on experience, skills, and location.
