JOB DESCRIPTION: Design the program flow of individual pieces of code, and perform effective coding, unit testing, and debugging. Interface with other technical personnel and team members to finalize requirements, as well as write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity. Collaborate with member of the development team to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs. Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews while collaborating with key stakeholders. Designing and creating data-driven software applications and monitoring tools. Building dev-ops pipelines and deploying applications to cloud. Ensuring secure software development practices. Designing and working with complex data models. Developing strategies to enhance the current processes and mitigate inefficiencies. Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity. Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. Resolving complex technical issues as necessary. Keeping abreast of new technology developments. Maintaining flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities and/or circumstances. Perform other duties as needed. REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field required. 2 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required. Also required is: 2 years of experience: implementing small enhancements or minor bug fixes to software applications; communicate findings to stakeholders; utilizing big data platforms including HPCC to process large volumes of data; utilizing database technologies including SQL Server or MySQL and associated query languages including SQL; participating in continuous improvement initiatives and implementing best practices; utilizing MS Office tools including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word; utilizing a version control system including Git; compliant with best practices for coding; and utilizing object-oriented software engineering languages including C++, C# or Java. Employee reports to LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Inc. office in St. Cloud, MN but may telecommute from any location within the U.S. Experience can be concurrent.
