You can learn more about LexisNexis Risk at the link below, https://risk.lexisnexis.com/About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Operations Engineering team, supporting a suite of internal systems critical to the performance and reliability of our enterprise insurance platform. This role focuses on building robust backend tools that enable operations teams to triage issues, perform impact analysis, monitor system health, and remediate policy/order-related failures efficiently. This position is ideal for engineers who are passionate about enabling operational excellence through smart automation, data-driven insights, and scalable internal platforms. Your contributions will directly enhance service reliability, reduce downtime, and improve customer trust in our insurance services.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain backend tools and services that support operations workflows, including issue triage, order/policy remediation, and RCA automation.Build internal dashboards, monitoring frameworks, and alerting systems to provide visibility into operational health and KPIs.Work with large-scale datasets in Databricks to drive operational insights, anomaly detection, and impact analysis.Leverage AWS services (such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, etc.) to build tools and automation that enhance system monitoring, visibility, and operational effectiveness.Participate in on-call rotations and incident reviews, helping to improve system reliability and operational response.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Support, Product, and Engineering to understand business pain points, provide feedback, and help drive improvements across the product and operational workflows.Mentor junior developers and contribute to code quality through code reviews and design discussions.Required Qualifications5+ years of experience with enterprise software development.Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, etc.)Experience working with Databricks or equivalent large-scale data platforms.Experience building internal tools, automation scripts, and operational dashboards.Solid understanding of microservices, APIs, and backend architecture principles to design and develop effective internal tools and operational workflows.Familiarity with software development best practices: testing, version control, CI/CD.Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on production reliability and operational effectiveness.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in enterprise software, especially within insurance, finance, or regulated industries.Exposure to monitoring/observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Grafana.Understanding SLAs, incident response processes, and operational playbooks.Comfortable working in environments with legacy systems and modern cloud-based services.Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)We know that your wellbeing and happiness are key to a long and successful career.
