Job Details Maxar is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a high-impact mission in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include developing, enhancing, and maintaining software systems across networked, local, and internet-based environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle and a passion for building scalable, enterprise-level solutions in cloud environments. Location This position is full-time onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD. Responsibilities Analyze, design, code, and enhance software systems, supporting both new development and improvements to existing applications. Use modern programming languages and technologies to build robust, scalable, and maintainable software. Collaborate with users and stakeholders to define system requirements and plan necessary modifications. Develop and execute systematic testing procedures to ensure quality and functionality. Work with data of varying volumes and velocity across Linux or similar environments. Support distributed system development, focusing on performance, scalability, and integration across multiple platforms. Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices. Qualifications U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance required. A CI poly is highly preferred. Minimum 6+ years of technical experience. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; experience may substitute for education. Strong coding experience in languages such as Python, Java, C++. Experience with multiple coding paradigms (object-oriented, functional, procedural, event-driven). Familiarity with unit testing and code analysis. Experience with full software lifecycle, including automated testing and integration. Background in code review processes and quality standards. Experience designing and deploying enterprise-level, distributed software systems in cloud environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience with penetration testing or computer network operations. Familiarity with open-source offensive security tools. Ability to quickly learn new languages, tools, and frameworks. Experience developing capabilities for cyber operations. Ability to reverse engineer proof-of-concept exploits. Additional Information Salary ranges are disclosed for pay transparency. The starting pay will be within the range of $175,000 - $190,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance, and 401(k).
