Senior Software Engineer – APIs and Tools

Your Role
As a software engineer on the APIs and Tools team, you’ll help shape how people interact with the platform. You’ll be responsible for building scalable solutions to some of our most challenging technical problems while optimizing for ease of use and sustainability, all centered on the infrastructure used to power those APIs and the tools teams and customers use to interact with the platform.
Your Impact
Architect and develop mission-critical tools that empower customers to harness the full potential of SolarWinds Observability, including our Terraform provider and CLI
Create and maintain robust SDKs that simplify platform integration across multiple languages and frameworks
Design and optimize high-performance API infrastructure that scales to support thousands of concurrent users
Define and evolve our REST API specifications and TypeSpec implementations, establishing standards that balance flexibility with consistency
Your Experience

Proven track record building scalable systems, particularly using Go, with additional proficiency in languages like Java, Kotlin, Python, Ruby, or TypeScript
Hands-on expertise implementing infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform, Salt, or Ansible
Success developing and maintaining Terraform providers/plugins that delight users with their reliability and usability
Knowledge of Kubernetes controller patterns and experience implementing custom controllers
Passion for crafting elegant APIs that developers love to use
