Join the innovative Project Kuiper team, an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites providing high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities globally. As a key member of the Kuiper MAC-SW team, you will play a critical role in developing embedded firmware code for ground network operations, customer terminals, and satellites. This position presents an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge wireless technology that will enable millions to stay connected. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate cross-functionally to define multi-dimensional performance requirements (e.g., MIPs, memory BW). Evaluate performance and optimization trade-offs to meet use case requirements effectively. Create component use-cases/test-cases and debug code in the Kuiper embedded environment. Profile and execute code on RTOS or bare-metal embedded environments. Contribute to the definition of services and functionalities delivered by your firmware subsystems. Define, document, test, and debug firmware-hardware interfaces. Adhere to software and firmware best practices, including clean architecture and refactoring. This role also requires the ability to work alongside a diverse team of innovators, ensuring the delivery of exceptional results. Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of professional experience in software development. 5+ years of programming experience in at least one software language. 5+ years leading design or architecture of new and existing systems. Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team. Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300 per year in the lowest geographic market up to $261,500 per year in the highest geographic market, based on various factors including location and experience.
