Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Software Updates) San Diego, California, United States | Software and Services Description Core Responsibilities Include: Help debug/triage issues spanning across hardware and software. Create test plans to validate new and existing software update areas. Create & maintain automated tests to enable comprehensive testing of Software Update technology. Collaborate with Software Development team to support rapid code changes. Articulate failures, identify issue trends, and quantify impact with a focus on customer experience. Strong bug reporting skills and clear communication with management and cross-functional teams. Actively participate in team code reviews, design, and test discussions. Own overall testing and quality assurance of the product. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer in Test or Software Quality Engineer. Proficiency with Python or other scripting languages. Experience with automation frameworks and tools development. BSc in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Strong bug reporting skills and effective communication with management and teams. Experience setting up Continuous Integration systems supporting multiple projects. Experience with C, ObjC, Swift is a plus. Automation planning, execution, and triage for iOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS platforms. Data analysis experience with Splunk, Tableau, or similar tools. Self-motivated learner with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to meet tight deadlines. Creative thinker capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. At Apple, base pay ranges from $139,500 to $258,100, depending on skills, experience, and location.
