What You'll Be Doing:
The Senior Security Engineer will be instrumental in designing and implementing robust security measures to safeguard Evolent's infrastructure and applications, both on-premise and in the cloud. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of security best practices, aiming to strengthen Evolent's security posture through thorough security design, execution, and management.
Develop comprehensive security strategies and architectural blueprints for on-premise and cloud solutions, aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Implement secure data layering techniques to protect sensitive information throughout Evolent’s systems and databases.
Create and maintain security policies, standards, and guidelines for consistent practices across the organization.
Evaluate and recommend security technologies and tools, including Palo Alto Prisma, ZIA, and ZPA, that bolster security and operational efficiency.
Apply REST API security best practices to ensure data transmission security and prevent unauthorized access.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle.
Participate in regular security and vulnerability assessments for infrastructure and applications.
Offer expert guidance for incident response and security breach mitigation.
Monitor security alerts and logs using SIEM or similar tools, responding promptly to incidents.
Stay informed on the latest security trends and technologies, proactively recommending improvements.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior security team members.
Additional Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and applicable regulations throughout Evolent’s systems.
Support the development of security controls to protect patient data against unauthorized access and disclosure.
Work with the privacy team to align Evolent’s security practices with privacy policies.
Represent Evolent at industry conferences and collaborate with peers to share best practices in cloud security.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Security Engineer or similar role, designing secure infrastructure solutions.
Expertise in data layering techniques and securing sensitive data.
Strong understanding of REST APIs and their security implications.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Splunk, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and WAF.
In-depth knowledge of on-premise and cloud security practices, including IAM, encryption, and network security.
Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, and GDPR.
Proven ability to identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex security concepts to various stakeholders.
Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty, CCSP, or CISSP are advantageous.

Technical Requirements: To ensure optimal remote work capabilities, all employees must have high-speed internet with a minimum of 10 Mbps and the ability to connect directly to the home internet router. These requirements may change if office locations reopen.

Compensation for this position ranges from $88,300 to $128,100, with eligibility for a performance-based bonus. Evolent provides comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, to qualifying employees. Compensation is determined based on relevant skills and experience.
